Our name comes from “naka”, an indigenous word meaning to beautify, to restore, to bring into balance — which is exactly what we aim to do in every product and every partnership.

Kanakisa is built on the rich biodiversity of Southern Africa.
We work with communities who harvest ingredients like Baobab, Moringa, Kigelia, Roselle, Mafura and Ximenia — botanicals that have nourished people for generations.
But our work goes beyond simply trading natural ingredients.
